Saturday 19 February 2011

Hello all, hope you are all eager beavers ready to get into stitching and machining, for we now have a social sewing day on every Saturday. Cost is only $5 each, from 10am - 12.30pm, so gather your projects and come and sit with like-minded people (which actually means everyone likes the airconditioning!!) just kidding, we have a Wednesday group as well, and we have a ball around the table. Tea, Coffee is constant and home cooking is abundant!

What's coming up, for our regular customers and class ladies, we are having our second annual Pyjama Party, on Sat 12th March, and yes you can wear your nightie if you don't have PJ's! Call into the shop to get the details and write this in your diary for another fun morning! For those who came last year, you already know what you are in for!
We have some new patterns coming very soon, and we have some books arrive from our Photo Art Quilt retreat with Linden Lancaster, so pop in and have a peak at those before they all disappear. For those who have booked the Cameron's Drought Quilt Kit, Linden is working on it, so I will let those people know when it arrives, I think we had better let her get into her teaching year first then let her know how eager we are for it.
I am looking for someone who is willing to do some roller-cutting for Kits, I did have someone lined up but she had to pull out, so if you are confident with a roller-cutter, then phone or come in and talk to Jo.
What else is happening, I would like to welcome Jo McKay to our team, Jo is a customer who I have been "working on" to come and work at the shop, the opportunity arose for her having some spare time and she said 'Yes', and I am very glad to have her. So when we answer the phone it will be either Jo, Connie, or Jo!
Another thing before I sign off and do boring clothes folding (Then I have 3 new patterns to type up), In July, for those who would like to do something different and get out of town for the weekend, in Hughenden, on the 8-10 July 2011 there will be a fantastic weekend retreat called "Outback Arts". It is a weekend where Patchworkers and Scrapbookers gather together and have a fantastic weekend. Kirsten Duncan from PomPom Rouge and I are the Patchwork Tutors and I think a Pair from Brisbane are the scrapbooking tutors, so if you are interested email, phone, or drop into the shop and I can give you some details. we will be getting some flyers shortly
Happy stitching everyone, and don't forget to be sew good at whatever you love to do!
Jo
